Funeral Services Are Held
at Manly On February 11

Funeral services for Roy Morris Severson, 85, of Manly, who died Sunday, February 8 at a Mason City hospital, were held Wednesday, February 11, 1987 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Manly with Dr. John Meyer officiating.

Mr. Severson was born September 23, 1901 in Carpenter to Sam and Sara (Ellenboe) Severson. He attended Carpenter rural schools and completed high school in Hastings, Minnesota.

He enlisted in the Army and played coronet in the band while stationed at Scofield Barricks in Hawaii.

He married Flora Greiner March 23, 1935 and they farmed in the Carpenter area for over 30 years. He then helped area farmers until retiring in 1970.

Survivors include four sons, Richard of Manley, Ronald of Northwood, Verlin of Mountainsburg, Arkansas, and Samuel of St. Ansgar; 13 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Donald of Austin, Minnesota and Arnold of Harrison, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother.

Burial was in Woodbury Cemetery, rural Lyle, Minnesota.
