Funeral services for Claire Carson, 56, who died July 16 at Litchfield, Minn., were held at 2 p.m. July 19 at the Schroeder & Dunn Funeral Home with Rev. S. Engelstad officiating.
Claire Newton Carson was born December 7, 1918 to Nute and Mable Sherman Carson of St. Ansgar. He attended and graduated from St. Ansgar Public School and worked several years at Wold Service Station.
In 1958 he married Edna Schreiber of Austin, Minn. at St. Olaf Lutheran church in Austin. They lived in St. Ansgar, Osage, Faribault, Minn. and were residing in Sauk Rapids, Minn. at the time of his death. While living in St. Ansgar they were members of the First Lutheran church.
Claire died in a car accident at Litchfield, believed to be a victim of heart attack. At the time of death he was salesman for Don Dean Royal Tire Co., St. Cloud, Minn. It is presumed he was returning home to St. Cloud after a day on the road.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his wife, Edna; one sister, Mrs. Field of Austin, Minnesota; one niece and two nephews.
Burial was in St. Ansgar City Cemetery with Rev. Engelstad in charge of committal services.
