Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, March 23, at the home and at the First Lutheran church for Mrs. Torborg Eide Allanson, 81 years of age, who died at her home here on March 20, 1940.

Torborg Eide Allanson was born on October 16, 1858, at Eide Halsnoen, Norway, and was the daughter of Hans and Elie Hansen. She was baptized on October 20, 1858, and confirmed October 12, 1873, at Fjeldberg, Norway. In 1881, she came to the United States to make her home with a brother who had preceded her to this country.

On December 9, 1884, she was united in marriage to Lars Leonard Allanson, and to this union were born eight children: Marie Allanson Thompson who died March 11, 1937, Edward A. of Glenside, Penn., Henry E. of Washington, D.C., Oscar L. of Valparaiso, Indiana, Clarence W. of Owatonna, Minn., Gustav Adolph who died in infancy, Roy A. of Eden, N.Y. and Clifford A. of Ithaca, N.Y. Besides her six sons and their wives she is survived by ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.

For a number of years after her marriage her home was made in Section 2, Barton township, Worth county, Iowa, but in 1913, due to the ill health of her husband they moved to St. Ansgar, where she has since resided.

During all her years she has been an active member of the Lutheran church, formerly being a member of the Deer Creek Congregation, but since 1913 carrying her membership in the First Lutheran church at St. Ansgar.

A short service was held at the home on Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, followed by service at the First Lutheran church, conducted by the Rev. Olaf A. Langehough. Interment was made in the Evergreen cemetery. Her six sons acted as pall bearers.
