Funeral services were held, December 27, 1993, at the Salem Lutheran Church in St. Cloud, Minnesota. The Reverend David Potter and Paul S. Johansson officiated.

Sherry L. Loften, age 40, of St. Cloud, Minnesota died Thursday, December 23, 1993, at the University of Minnesota Hospitals, Minneapolis.

Sherry was born April 20, 1953 in Austin, Minnesota to Darwin and Betty (Cummings) Fossey. She married James R. Loften, August 17, 1974 in St. Ansgar. She lived in Story City, Iowa 1974-75. She moved to Athens, Georgia 1975-79. St. Louis, Missouri from 1979-83. She has been a resident of St. Cloud, Minnesota since 1983 where she was area co-coordinator for the St. Cloud area Girl Scouts.

Later she was employed by Northway Dental and for the past three years was a secretary at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and the Stearns County Extension Club.

Survivors include her husband, Jim; daughter Karla and son, Brain, both at home; parents, Darwin and Betty Fossey, St. Ansgar; grandmother, Elsie Cummings, Austin, Minnesota; sister, Julaine Dammen, Prior Lake, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her son, Bruce in 1980.

Pallbearers were Paul Barton, Bruce Kudak, Merlin Fossey, Glenn Yocum, Dick and Jim Cummings.

Burial was at the Osage Cemetery, Osage, Iowa.
