Herman August Anderson passed away at 7:45 Saturday morning at his home in Carpenter, Iowa, after an ilness of twelve days. He was a devoted father who took great interest in his home.
Mr. Anderson was born in Halingdal, Norway, December 9, 1861, coming to this country at the age of nine years. The family settled at Deer Creek, Iowa, living there one year. Then they moved to St. Ansgar, Iowa, where he grew to manhood. From there he moved to Meltonville, Iowa, and was united in marriage to Miss Julia Schudar of that place, on November 2, 1897. This union was blessed with eight children, seven of whom are living, Andrew Robert of Minneapolis, Clarence James of Nicaragua, Mrs. W.R. Hanna of Northwood, Lloyd Clifford, Alice May, Vernice Ethel and Vernie Ray at home.
He also leaved to mourn two sisters, Mrs. W.J. Campbell of Austin and Mrs. O.G. Myhrevold of Minneapolis and one grandchild.
He was a member of the N.L. Church of St. Ansgar.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the First Lutheran church, the pastor, Rev. Olaf A. Langehough officiating. Interment was in the Evergreen cemetery.
