Charles Joseph Crane

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 23, 1988 at Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter, for Charles Joseph Crane, 88, of Carpenter, who died Thursday, April 21, 1988 at his home. The Reverend E.C. Franke officiated and burial was in Sunset Rest Cemetery, Northwood, Worth county, Iowa.

He was born April 8, 1900 near Greene, Iowa to George and Cora Crane. He attended rural schools near Greene. He farmed in the Carpenter area for several years. He was later employed as a farmhand.

He married Adeline Troe on July 18, 1970. They made their home in Carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Helen; four brothers; one sister; and one step-daughter.

Survivors include his wife, Adeline of Carpenter; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Karlyle (LaVonne) Thomsen of Myrtle, Minnesota; two stepsons, Gary Troe of Lake Mills and Larry Troe of Brisbane, California; eight step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
