Death of Mrs. K. Kittleson
Mrs. Kittleson, wife of Knut Kittleson died Thursday January 30, 1902.
Miss Tonie** Svenson was born September 1, 1830 in the parish of Rollog, Numedal, Norway. Here she spent the years of childhood and youth and in 1847, she was united in marriage to Mr. Knut Kittleson.
Early in the year of 1853 they started for America. The first year was spent in Rock County, Wisconsin. In 1854 they removed to Mitchell County, Iowa, settling near St. Ansgar. This section was their home until death.
In 1893 Mr. Kittleson died as a result of a run-a-way accident. Since that time she has resided with her children.
To Mr. and Mrs. Kittleson there were born seventeen children and of those, four preceded them to the other world. Of the thirteen children now living, Betsy (now Mrs. Higgs), lives at Waterloo, Iowa, Andrew and Ole reside at Bottineau, North Dakota, and Sam in Wells County, North Dakota. All the others, Kittle, Mary, George, Theodora, Henry, Gertie (now Mrs. Jensen), Gunnel (now Mrs. Ostby), Betsy***, Lars and Martin reside in this vicinity. She also leaves 36 living grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The funeral was held at the Norwegian Lutheran Church. Reverend J. Olsen officiating Monday Feburary 3, 1902, and her remains were laid to rest beside those of her husband in the N.L. [First Lutheran church] Cemetery. The bereaved friends have the sincere sympathy of all.
