Mrs. Grace Kittleson Funeral Held at First Lutheran Church

Funeral services for Mrs. Grace Kittleson, 83, who died August 21, 1973 at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center, were held August 24 at First Lutheran Church here with the Reverend Stephen Engelstad officiating.

Grace Gertrude Porter, daughter of Charles and Esther (Ostrum) Porter, was born March 29, 1890 in Grant County, South Dakota. At the age of six she moved with her parents and family to Milbank, South Dakota.

In August 1909 she was married to Charles Christy, and two sons were born to this union.

On September 29, 1915 she was married to Henry Kittleson, and two sons and two daughters were born to them. They made their home in St. Ansgar.

Later Mrs. Kittleson moved to Austin, Minnesota where she resided until 1967 when she fell and sustained a broken hip. She was confined to a wheelchair, and in September was taken to the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar.

Mrs. Kittleson is survived by four sons: Lyle Christy of Austin, Minnesota, Malcolm Christy of Spring Lake Park, Minnesota, Bob Kittleson and Clifford Kittleson of Los Angeles, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Victor (Pearl) Tostenson of Hollandale, Minnesota, and Mrs. Norris (Ardella) Anderson of Toeterville, Iowa; 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, three sisters, her husband and two grandchildren.

Burial was in First Lutheran Cemetery [St. Ansgar, Iowa] with Rev. Engelstad in charge of the committal services.
