Funeral services for Esther Corinne Falk, 84, who died April 17, 1994 at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center, were held Wednesday, April 20 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Norman E. Betke officiating.
Esther Corinne (Blakestad) Flak was born in Lyle, Minnesota June 12, 1909, the daughter of Oliver and Lona (Williams) Blakestad. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Lyle.
After graduation from Lyle High School in 1927, Mrs. Falk attend Lab and X-ray School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She worked for several years as a technician in Austin, Minnesota.
April 28, 1934, she married LaVerne Falk of St. Ansgar. Mr. and Mrs. Falk were owners of L. R. Falk Construction Company until 1961, when it was incorporated. Mrs. Falk was vice president of the company. She lived in St. Ansgar throughtout her life. She was an active member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, and the LWML, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling crocheting, and spending time with her family and friends.
Esther is survived by three children; Janice Campbell of Portland, Oregon; David of St. Ansgar; and Mrs Terry (Dorothy) McMillen of Anaheim, California; seven grandchildren, Bob and Jim Campbell; Jeff, Mike and Jennifer McMillen; Andrea and Lindsey Falk; one great granddaughter, Hannah Campbell; three sisters, Myrtle Tollefson, St. Ansgar; Lorene Greiner of Canby, Minnesota; and Lona Davidson of Faribault, Minnesota; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband LaVerne in 1976; two sisters and two brothers.
