Funeral services for Virginia Marie Warrington, 82 of St. Ansgar, who died Friday, February 4, 2000, were held Tuesday, February 6 at Immanuel Lutheran Church hre with the Rev. Edward H. Schmidt officiating.

Virginia Marie Warrington was born March 22, 1917 in Cedar Township, Mitchell County, the only child of Nels and Anna (Adrian) Benson. She was baptized on March 22, 1917 by Rev. Bertrum and confirmed in 1931 at St. John’s Lutheran Church south of Osage. She graduated from Osage High School in 1934.

Virginia was united to Kenneth L. Warrington on March 9, 1937 at her parent’s home south of Osage. Three children were born to this marriage, Larry Lee, Karen Ann, and Robert Arthur. After their marriage they farmed many years in the Osage area and later north of St. Ansgar. Virginia worked for many years as an aide at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center. At their retirement they moved to St. Ansgar, where she enjoyed visiting with friends and doing needle crafts.

Viginia is survived by six grandchildren; Karen Leach of Clarksville, Tennessee, Joann Hemann, St. Ansgar, Steve Warington of St. Charles, Iowa, Kenneth Warrington of St. Ansgar, Robert Warrington Jr. of Iowa Falls, and John Warrington of Denver, Colorado; seven great grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Lillian Warrington of St. Ansgar and Lorraine Tilton of Mona.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, three children, Larry, Karen, and Robert.

Burial was in the Rock Creek Cemetery, rural Osage.

ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Virginia Marie Warrington, 82, died Friday (Feb. 4, 2000) at Mitchell County Regional Health Care Center, Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Edward H. Schmidt officiating. Interment will be in Rock Creek Cemetery, rural Osage.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church Tuesday. Champion Funeral Home, 702 State St., Osage, is in charge of all arrangements.
