RICEVILLE, IOWA -- Richard Newton, 9, died Wednesday (Oct. 16, 1996) at his home after a farming accident.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Riceville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Lovejoy officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery in Little Cedar. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Lindstrom Funeral Home, Riceville.

Richard Newton was born on Dec. 19, 1986, in Rochester, Minn.

Survivors include his parents, Lee and Jennifer Newton; three sisters, Kathryn Jane, Jessica Angel and Nicole Lea, all of Riceville; paternal grandparents, Jerry and Joyce Newton of Riceville; paternal great-grandparents, Stanley and Ruth Newton of Riceville, and Walter and Doloris Fischer of St. Charles, Minn., and maternal foster grandparents, Del and Joyce Fowler of Provo, Utah.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents.

Services were Saturday, October 19, for Richard Newton, 9, of rural Riceville, Iowa, who died October 16, 1996 after a farming accident.

Richard was born on December 29, 1986 in Rochester, Minnesota, to Lee and Jennifer (DiLaura) Newton.

Survivors include his parents, Lee and Jennifer Newton, three sisters: Kathyrn Jane, Jessica Angel, and Nicole Lea, all of Riceville, paternal grandparents Jerry and Joyce Newton of Riceville, and paternal great-grandparents Stanley and Ruth Newton of Riceville, and Walter and Doloris Fischer of St. Charles, Minnesota; maternal foster grandparents Del and Joyce Fowler of Provo, Utah.
