ST. ANSGAR, IOWA — Services for Clifford (Ted) Tollefson, 71, who died at his home Saturday night, April 21, 1973, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Schroeder and Dunn Funeral Home here. Burial will be in First Lutheran Cemetery.
He was born on 25 July 1901, at St. Ansgar, the son of Martin Andrew Tollefson and Ida Matilda Edith Lovestrom.
Ted was married to Bertha Melvina Frank, daughter of Melvin Frank and Emma Nesset Frank, on July 8, 1936 at Blue Earth, Minnesota. Bertha was born on 27 April 1918 at Bergen, North Dakota.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha; three sons, David of St. Ansgar, Robert of Belle Plaine, and Ray of Charles City; and 13 grandchildren.

Clifford M. Tollefson Funeral Held Here Wednesday, April 25
Funeral services for Clifford M. Tollefson, 71, who died at his farm home near St. Ansgar April 22 (1973) were held April 25 at Schroeder & Dunn Funeral Home here with Reverend S. Engelstad officiating.
Clifford Melbourne Tollefson was born July 25, 1901 on a farm in St. Ansgar Township, the son of Martin Andrew and Edith Matilda (Ida) Lovestrom Tollefson. He was baptized and confirmed in First Lutheran Church. He entered grade school in St. Ansgar in 1908 and was graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1920. He attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota in 1921, and starated farming with his father, Martin Tollefson in 1922. Mr. Tollefson purchased a vegetable and truck farm in Fertile in 1935.
On July 8, 1936 he was united in marriage with Bertha Frank at Blue Earth, Minnesota. Three sons were born to them.
In 1938 the family moved to the farm near St. Ansgar where he lived until his death.
Mr. Tollefson is survived by his wife, Bertha of St. Ansgar; three sons, David of St. Ansgar, Robert of Belle Plaine; and Ray of Charles City; 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant sisters and twin grandchildren.
Burial was in the First Lutheran Cemetery with Reverend Engelstad in charge of the committal services.
