Harold Clayton
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 27, 1988 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Riceville, for Harold Clayton, 71, of Riceville. Burial was in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Riceville, with military rites by members of Osage Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Clayton died Friday, September 23, 1988 at Veterans Administration Hospital, Iowa City, of natural causes.
Mr. Clayton was a veteran of World War II. He and his brother, Robert of Mitchell, were both survivors of the Pearl Harbor attack during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Matt and Anna Clayton; and his wife, Hattie.
Survivors include two sons, David of Riceville and Roger of Stuart; one step-daughter, Hazel Hodges of Chicago, Illinois, one sister, Mrs. Mildred Reasland of Minneapolis; two brothers, Robert of Mitchell and Kenneth of Lemoore, California; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Agnes Dvorak of Riceville.
