Funeral services were held Saturday, September 24, 1988 at Champion Funeral Home, Osage, for Blanche L. Smith, 84, of Chili, Wisconsin, and formerly of Osage. She died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 1988 at Marshfield Living Center, Marshfield, Wisconsin, of natural causes. Burial was in Osage Cemetery, Osage, Iowa.
Mrs. Smith was born in Osage, Iowa on March 14, 1904 to Sam and Maude (Gardner) Jacobs. She attended schools in Osage and Raymond, South Dakota.
In 1924, she married Rudolph Lind. He died in 1929. She married Glen Smith in 1936. Mr. Smith died in 1945.
She lived at various times in Osage, Raymond, South Dakota, Pullman, Washington, and New Richmond, Wisconsin.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two husbands; one son and three sisters.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. George (Elizabeth) Smith of Chili, Wis., Harriet York of Milton-Frewater, Oregon, and Mrs. Walter (Mary Ellen) Kempf of Marysville, Washington; one son, Francis Lind of Umatilla, Oregon; 13 grandchidlren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Hazel Hofsteen of Madison, Wisconsin.
