Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, July 13, 1988 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Osage, for Donald Spitz, 67, of Osage. Rev. L. Connolly will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Osage, with military rites by Orchard American Legion Post 641 and Osage VFW Post 7920.

Mr. Spitz died on Saturday, July 9, 1988 at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, Osage, of natural causes.

Mr. Spitz was born on Oct. 10, 1920 in Orchard, Iowa, to Frank J. and Bertha (Roth) Spitz. He received his education in Orchard schools.

On June 18, 1946, he married Elizabeth Juenger in Stacyville. They made their home in Osage where he worked at Co-op Oil for 29 years until retiring in 1975. He then worked as a self-employed carpenter.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theater. He was a member of Orchard American Legion Post 641 and Osage VFW Post 7920.

His parents preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth of Osage; two sons, David of Osage and Richard of Biloxi, Mississippi; two sisters, Mrs. Geraldine Juenger of Austin, Minnesota, and Sister Theresa Ann Spitz of De Witt; two brothers, Clarence of Norfolk, Virginia and Bernard of Osage; and two grandchildren.
