Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 20, 1988 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sioux City for Colleen “Coke” Card, 49, formerly of Osage, and now of Sioux City, Iowa. She died on Sunday, July 17, 1988 in a Sioux City Hospital after a short illness of cancer. Monsignor Thomas N. Donahoe officiated and burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Colleen Weinschenk was born September 4, 1938 in Osage the daughter of Gertrude and Melvin Weinschenk. She graduated from Osage High School in 1957 and received her LPN training at Winona Area Vocational Technical School in Winona, Minnesota graduating in 1959.

She married Raymond Card on July 11, 1959 in Osage. The couple made their home in Sioux City where she was employed at Sioux City Hospitals and nursing homes. She was employed by Matney Nursing Home in Sioux City at the time of her death. She also owned Partners in Upholstery.

Mrs. Card was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was an avid golfer and was a member of bowling leagues for more than 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Survivors include her husband, Ray of Sioux City; a daughter, Mrs. Clay (Stephanie) Meyer of Sioux City; a son, Eric Card of Sioux City; her mother, Gertrude Weinschenk of Osage; a siser, Sonja Angell of Osage; three brothers, Marcus Weinschenk of Independence, Russell W. Weinschenk of Rochester, Minnesota, and Jerome Weinschenk of Mason City; two grandchildren, Aleshia and Joshua Meyer.

A memorial has been established in her name with the American Cancer Society or family address, 2814 Ordway Ave., Sioux City, Iowa.
