DENESUK, RITZKA, MCNARY

Funeral services were held Monday, November 14, 1988 at the United Church of Christ, Osage, for Michael Denesuk, age 72, of Mitchell. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Mitchell. He died on Thursday, Nov. 10, 1988 at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, Osage, Iowa, of natural causes.

He was born on November 21, 1915 in Peabody, Massachusetts, the son of Nicholas and Jennue (Ritzka) Denesuk. He attended Tufts University in Somerville, MA, and graduated with a master's segree in music in 1941. He served in the U.S. Navy Band from 1941 to 1947. He studied at New England Conservatory of Music and played in the San Antonio Symphony Orchestra from 1950 to 1952. From 1953 until retiring in 1982 he was a viola player in the Minnesota Symphony in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

He married Patricia McNary on September 19, 1970 at St. Charles, Minnesota. They moved to Mitchell in 1986. He was a member of the Osage Rotary Club and president and member of Mitchell Senior Citizens.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia of Mitchell; and by two nieces, Norma Tesch of Durham, N.C. and Donna Paschal of Sanford, N.C.

The family requests memorials to be given to the Rotary Foundation.
