Steven Borchert Funeral Held
Funeral services for Steven Lynn Borchert, 18, who was killed instantly in a two-car accident Sunday morning, was held Tuesday, August 8 at Emmanuel Lutheran church, Grafton, with the Rev. V. Baderschneider officiating. Boys quartet, Robert and Tom Trettin, Stanley Borchert and Philip Hackbart sang “Jesus is Softly and Tenderly Calling,” with Mary Dalluge at the piano.
Pallbearers were Dennis Fitzl, Lowell Kroneman, Tomas Tretton, Robert Trettin, Harold Nicholson, and Mark Shoars.
Steven Lynn Borchert was born May 2, 1949 in Worth county, to Warren & Mildred (Chase) Borchert. Steven was baptized May 29. 1949 by Rev. C. Buehler in Emmanuel Lutheran church, Grafton. As he grew in years he attended school at the Grafton school where he received his elementary and primary education. He attended high school at St. Ansgar Senior High were he had completed his junior year. It was during these years that he was instructed in the Lutheran faith and was confirmed June 2, 1963 by Rev, Carlton Rohr.
Steve was an active young man, being involved in 4-H, Luther League, school activates with a special interest in sports.
Surviving him are his parents, two sisters, Mrs. Gary (Charlotte) Cole, Mason City and Linda at home; two brothers, Stanley and Larry, also at home. Also his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Borchert.
Burial was in the Grafton cemetery.
