Roy Otto William Rachut, age 57, died on Sunday, February 28, 1971, at a Rochester, Minnesota hospital.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 1971, at St. John's Lutheran church in Rock township, Mitchell county, Iowa. The Rev. Elmer Jacobs will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with Schroeder and Houg Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, Iowa, in charge of arrangements.
Roy was born on November 24, 1913, in Rock Township, Mitchell county, Iowa, to Edward Otto Albert Rachut and Margaretha Henrietta Augusta Linnes.
Surviving are his wife, Alphia; four daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Shirley) Fossey and Mrs. Alan (Mary) Greenman both of Austin, Minnesota; Mrs. Verle (Darlene) Zuehl, Lyle, Minnesota; Betty, at home; three grandchildren, a half sister, Mrs. August Ehlke, and a step brother, Walter Ruehlow, both of Osage.
NOTE: Edward Rachut (1881-1958) was the son of Gustav Frederick Rachut (1837-1919) and Wilhelmine Hanna Louise Kronemann Rachut (1842-1928). Margaretha (1879-1921) was the daughter of Anton Linnes (1837-1916) and Sophie Kaben (1847-1883).

#2:Roy Rachut, 57, died on February 28, 1971, at St. Mary's hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. Funeral services were held last Wednesday afternoon at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock township, Mitchell county, Iowa, and burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Elmer Jacobs was in charge of services.
Roy Rachut was born in Mitchell County, Iowa, on November 24, 1913, the son of Edward and Margaret Linnes Rachut. He was baptized on December 21, 1913, and was confirmed in 1927 at St. John's Lutheran Church. He graduated from St. Ansgar high school in 1931.
Roy and Alphia Kruger were married on February 28, 1940 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton, by Rev. Lechner. They made their home on a farm joining the home farm for 20 years, then they moved to the home farm, where he had been born and reared.
Mr. Rachut had served on the board of trustees of St. John's Lutheran church and at the time of his death was on the board of directors of the Faith Home in Osage.
