Wilmer A. Adrian, 79, of rural Osage died on Monday, May 15, 2000, in Goodhue County, Minnesota.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Edward Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar.

Wilmer Arnold Adrian was born December 11, 1920, in Rock Township, Mitchell County, Iowa, to George E. and Margaret (nee Troge) Adrian. He was baptized on January 23, 1921 by the Rev. Paul Brammer. He attended rural school in Rock Township. He was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansagar, by Rev. Paul Brammer on March 25, 1934. He graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1938.

Wilmer was married to Marlys Palmer on June 20, 1943 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar. They made their home on and farmed the family farm, retiring in 1985, but still making their home on the family farm.

Wilmer was very active in his church. He was an usher, recording secretary, Sunday School deacon, and trustee for many years. Wilmer worked at the ASCS office for several years and for a short time with soil conservation (SCS). He bowled for many years and enjoyed playing cards and fishing. He was also a nature lover.

He is survived by two sons, Dennis and his wife Anna Adrian of Mason City, and Daryl and his wife Diane of Nora Springs; by four grandchildren: Michelle (Adrian) Bergman and her husband, Mike of Seattle, Wash., Matthew Adrian of Portland, Oregon, Tanya (Adrian) Garnett and her husband, Ted of Cedar Rapids, and Amanda Adrian of Des Moines; and by three great-grandsons, Jacob Wyatt and Zachariah and Cameron Garnett.

He was preceded in death by her parents, George and Margaret Adrian; his brothers, George and Frederick; and by his sister, Viola.

Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.

NOTES: According to the funeral service folder for Wilmer and Marlys, the casket bearers were: Luther Meister, Wayne Benson, Gene Troge, Dick Haudt, Gerold Schulz, Allen Thorson, Nathan Mineart, Vern Meister and Kenneth Duenow.
