Phyllis Anne Watson, age 83, of Osage, Mitchell county, Iowa, died on Thursday, December 11, 2008, at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 17, 2008, at the First United Methodist Church in Osage, with Rev. Anna Blaedel officiating. Burial will be at the Osage Cemetery.

Phyllis was born September 26, 1925, at Anoka, Minnesota, the daughter of Earl and Frances (St. John) Johnson. Phyllis graduated from University of Wisconsin-Stout.

She married Norman E. Watson on June 6, 1948, in Monroe, Wisconsin. Phyllis and Norman taught school at Black River Falls, Wisconsin. They then moved to Humboldt, Iowa. During this time, Phyllis taught at Luverne. In 1967, they moved to Osage. Phyllis was a member of the Methodist Church in Humboldt and Osage.

She was also a member of the United Methodist Women, the Eastern Star, and the Future Homemakers of America. Phyllis enjoyed playing bridge and all card games, golfing, bowling, and crossword puzzles. Phyllis and Norm enjoyed winter travel to Arizona and their children's music.

Phyllis is survived by a son, David Watson of Minneapolis, Minnesota; a daughter, Joan (Katie Ray) Watson of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; and her hundred-year-old aunt, Evelyn Folstrom of Northfield, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman Watson in 2006; a son, Thomas Edward; and a brother, Roland Johnson.
