OSAGE, IOWA - Kathryn Chrencik, 92, died on Sunday (Nov. 23, 2008) at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.

Kathryn was born on Aug. 25, 1916 in Benwood, West Virginia, the daughter of Joseph and Victoria (Laga) Kordos. She moved to the Mitchell, Iowa, area with her family when she was three years old. Kathryn attended school in Mitchell and graduated from Mitchell High School where she was a guard on the basketball team.

She was united in marriage to Tom Chrencik at Sacred Heart Church in Osage, on February 6, 1937.

Kathryn enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting and spending time with her grand children and great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, with Sister Millie Leuenberger, OSF officiating.

Kathryn is survived by her son, Joe (Karen) Chrencik of Traverse City, Michigan; her daughter, Judy (Paul) Morgan of Osage; grandchildren, Cheryl (Phil) Kapler and their children Monica, Ethan, Elena and Owen of Lakeville, Minn.; Christa (Curt) Diemer and their children Kara and Julia of West Branch; Coleen Chrencik and her children Mitch, Daniel, and Thomas of Divide, Colo.; Curt (Patty) Chrencik and their children Ryan, Carley and Joe of Gaylord, Mich.; her sister, Rose Pajer of Osage.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister, Mary Vulk.

Arrangements are by Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage, 641-732-3706.
