DIED
At her home in East Burr Oak, July 17, after a painful illness of three month, Mrs. Phylancy Smith aged forty-six years.
The funeral took place at Brownville, July 19. Rev. Cassidy, of Riceville, conducted the services.
The text was from Psalms XLVII, 14.
Mrs. Smith has been a resident of Mitchell county for more than thirty years. Came here from Illinois when but a child with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Allen of Osage, who still survive her.
She leaves a husband and two sons, and five daughters to mourn her loss.
Mrs. Smith has been an earnest Christian worker in the church and Sunday school for many years. How many sick rooms have been cheered by her presence. How may sad hearts have been comforted by her kind words.
Weep not mourning children and friends, she has only gone to that home she so often spoke to you about.
Only waiting to meet you in heaven.
