James W. Lowder, 46, of Osage, Mitchell County, Iowa, died on Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center Emergency Room in Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a .m. Saturday, April 12, 2008, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery.

James was born June 30, 1961, at Fort Dodge, Iowa, the son of William and Shirley (Schmidt) Lowder.

James enlisted in the United States Army and served in the 82nd Airborne Division. Following service he worked construction, building bridges. James graduated from NIACC and the University of Northern Iowa with a BA degree in social work. He was employed at Prairie Ridge in Mason City as a counselor.

James is survived by two sons, Jesse Lowder of Osage, and Kody Lowder of Cedar Rapids; by his mother, Shirley Lowder of Osage; and by aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by: his father, William Lowder; his sister, Sally Lowder; and his grandparents.

Arrangements are by Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage -- (641)732-3706.
