Garry W. Anderson, age 64, a longtime resident of Rochester, Olmsted County, Minnesota, died on February 26, 2008 at his home, of multiple myeloma.
He was born on October 29, 1943, in St. Ansgar, Mitchell county, Iowa.
He married Sandra Skjong on September 21, 1968, in Walnut Grove, Minnesota. He worked as an insurance adjuster for CIGNA and Crawford & Co. His wife worked many years for Qwest; she survives. Anderson was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and was active in its stewardship committee. He was formerly a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin. He was also active in scouting, and loved summers at Happiness Resort and doing yard work.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Todd (Mary), Chicago; daughter, Tanya Anderson, Chicago; mother, Rosie Anderson, Austin; brother, Brad, Minneapolis, Minn.; and granddaughter, Claire Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Match 1, 2008, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester. Macken Funeral Home of Rochester was in charge of arrangements.
