Funeral services for James "Jim" Wells, age 67, of Osage, Iowa, will be held on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church in Osage, with Rev. Dr. J. Samuel Subramanian officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery.

Jim died Sunday, October 29, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City, Iowa.

Jim was born November 21, 1938, at Mason City, Iowa, the son of James and Viola (Haukness) Wells. He graduated from Mason City High School in 1956. Jim moved to Osage in 1959, where he owned and operated Jim's Electric. On December 28, 1984, he married Carol (Wedge) Huisman at Little Cedar. Jim served as a mentor for the Bridges Mentoring Program.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jim is survived by his wife Carol Wells of Osage; four sons: Jeff (Lisa) Wells of Columbia, Missouri; Jay Wells of Iowa City and children, Alyssa (Wells) Brazicek, Ryan Wells, and Scott Wells; Jim (Marlys) Wells of Boone and children, Chloe and Sam Wells; John Wells of Des Moines and daughter, Kenna Wells; four step-children: Debbie Foster of Riceville and daughter, Terri Foster; Mike Huisman of St. Ansgar and his children, Jamie (Laura) Huisman and their children, Brecken and Olivia Huisman; Brandon Huisman; and Raven Huisman; John (Vanessa) Huisman of Osage and children, Amanda, Dianna, Matt, and Clarissa Huisman; Paul (Darlyne) Huisman of St. Ansgar and children, Rachel, Chelsey, and Whitney Huisman; and two sisters: Connie (Norman) Wheeler of Mason City; Pat (Ray) Corlew of Rockford, Illinois.
