AUSTIN, MINN. -- The funeral for Elfrieda A. Uzlik, 90, formerly of St. Ansgar, Iowa, and a nurse at St. Olaf hospital here for 45 years, was Monday in St. Ansgar in First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert Porisch officiating. Burial was in First Lutheran Cemetery in St. Ansgar.
Mrs. Uzlik died Wednesday (May 19, 1999) in Miami.
Elfrieda Miller was born Dec. 6, 1908, in Copenhagen, Denmark. She was reared by Chris and Dora Goplerud. She was a nurse at St. Olaf Hospital in Austin for 45 years. She operated a neighborhood grocery store in Austin for 10 years. She also did child care in St. Ansgar for 15 years. She enjoyed flower gardening. She had lived in Florida the past six years.
Surviving are a son, Michael Uzlik of Homestead, Florida, and two brothers, Kenneth Goplerud of St. Ansgar and Chris Miller of Ashbe, Minn. She was preceded in death by three brothers.
Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, was in charge of arrangements.
