Memorial services for Wayne N. Decklever, age 72, will be held on Friday, September 22, 2006 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage, Iowa, with Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Wayne N. Decklever died August 17, 2006, at his home in Surprise, Arizona.

Wayne was born March 20, 1934, in Osage, Iowa, the son of Lawrence and Elsie (Tesch) Decklever. Wayne graduated from Osage High School. He served in the Army as a paratrooper from 1954-1956. Wayne resided in Osage until 1969 where he was in home construction and was a Real Estate Agent. He was also self employed as Decklever Excavating. He was President and Treasurer of the Jaycees. Wayne moved to Arizona in 1969 where he owned his own business, Decklever Construction, doing home remodeling.

His hobbies were hiking and dirt bike (motorcycle) riding. Wayne was a member of the Arizona Desert Racing Association. He was a skillful rider, winning many races.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Diane Decklever; and grandson, Jason Peterson.

Wayne is survived by his wife Regina, of Surprise, Ariz.; one daughter, Carol Decklever, of Rochester, Minn.; two sons, Robert (Tracy) Decklever, of Byron, Minn., and Wayne "Mike" (Rose) Decklever, of Byron, Minn.; a stepson, Dan (Kelli) Heinzerling, of Phoenix, Ariz. and stepdaughter Tina (Don) Trail, of Kissimee, Fla.; three brothers, LaVern (Rita) Decklever, of Pisgah Forest, N.C., Richard (Neva) Decklever, of Indianola, Iowa; Larry (Marge) Decklever, of Lakeville, Minn.; one sister Marian Decklever, of St. Petersburg, Fla. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Eric Ross, Christine (Jake) Hachfeld, Jamie Schulz, Jacob and Claire Decklever; and one great-grandchild, Khloee Schulz.
