Sybil Maxine Shaw age 90, of Yuma, Ariz., formerly of McIntire, Iowa, passed away at her residence in Yuma on Sunday, September 10, 2006.
Funeral services were held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Riceville on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006 with the Rev. Ray E. Attwood officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Riceville.
Sybil was born on Oct. 10, 1915 in Riceville to Walter and Winnifred Wentworth Lonie. She attended local schools and graduated from Riceville High School in 1934.
Survivors include sons, Marvin (Kathy) and Roger; and a daughter Barbara (Bill) Martin of Riceville.

Sybil Maxine Shaw age 90, of Yuma, Arizona ,formerly of McIntire, Iowa ,passed away at her residence in Yuma on Sunday, September 10, 2006.
Sybil was born on October 10, 1915 in Riceville Iowa to Walter and Winnifred Wentworth Lonie. She attended local schools and graduated from Riceville High School in 1934. On July 29, 1935, Sybil was united in marriage to Matthew Joseph Klaes in Galena, Illinois. During the first four years of their marriage she traveled with her husband in construction. Then they moved to a farm 7 miles north of Riceville, where they farmed until Matthew passed away in 1975. Sybil remained on the farm for another year and then moved to McIntire Iowa. Sybil worked for 10 years at the canning factory in Rochester Minnesota. In 1985, Sybil was united in marriage to Cyrus Shaw at the St. Mel’s Catholic Church in McIntire, Iowa. Cyrus preceded Sybil in death in 2002.
Survivors include two sons, Marvin and his wife Kathy of Middleburg, FL and Roger of Pass Christian, MS. One daughter, Barbara and her husband Bill Martin of Riceville, IA., fourteen grandchildren, many great and great-great grandchildren.
Sybil was proceeded in death by her parents; her first husband Matthew; her two sons; Frank and Everett; a granddaughter, Stephanie; her second husband, Cyrus, and one brother Wilbur.
