Ruth Josephine Laura Wilde, 90, of rural Osage, Iowa, died on Thursday, July 20, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar, Iowa. Funeral services were held on Monday, July 24, 2006 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Township, Mitchell County, Iowa, with Rev. Wayne Ellingson and AiM Irmgard Ellingson officiating. Burial was in the St. John's Cemetery.
Ruth Josephine Laura (Dutte) Wilde was born to John and Sophia (Seeger) Dutte on December 20, 1915, at their home north of Toeterville, Iowa. She was baptized on January 2, 1916 by Rev. E.M. Lehmonn at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Toeterville. Ruth was confirmed on April 13, 1930 by Rev. Bosholm at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Toeterville. She attended school through 8th grade at Drown School House north of Toeterville.
On August 29, 1943 Ruth married Arnold Wilde at St. Ansgar Emmanuel Lutheran Church. To this union was born two sons: Richard and Frederick.
Ruth enjoyed gardening, and always had the coffee on, but was best known for her cinnamon rolls. Every visitor always left with a pan of her cinnamon rolls.
She was preceded in death by parents John and Sophia Dutte; by her husband Arnold Wilde in 1976; by a stillborn son, Frederick, in 1951, and by a daughter, Marlys Jones in 1981.
Ruth is survived by two sons: Richard (Sandy) Wilde of Osage and Allen (Mariedna) Wilde of Osage; by six grandchildren: Brian Wilde, Barry Wilde, Joaquin Jones, Janie Jones-Smeby, Julie Dahl and Kevin Wilde; by nine great-grandchildren; by a sister, Mildred Walk of Kensett; and by a son-in-law, Charles Jones of Nashua.
