Funeral services for Louis T. Johnson, age 90, of rural Rudd, Iowa, were held on Saturday, July 22, 2006, at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, 3269 Foothill Avenue, rural Osage, Iowa, with Rev. R. Dawson Tornes officiating. Burial was in the Rock Creek Cemetery. Louis died on Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.
Louis was born on April 27, 1916, in rural Floyd County, Iowa, the son of O. J. and Marie (Beagles) Johnson. He graduated from Osage High School in 1934.
He was united in marriage to Alice Herron on February 22, 1939. They farmed on the family farm, retiring in 1982. Louis was a lifelong member of Rock Creek Lutheran Church.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters:, Marie Johnson and Lola Brandau.
He is survived by his wife Alice of rural Rudd; by three sons: Louis (Betty) Johnson of Houston, Texas, Kenneth (Erma) Johnson of Spokane, Washington; and Keith (Suzanne) Johnson of Mantorville, Minnesota; by one sister, Olive (Raymond) Borchardt of Mason City; and by six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
Arrangements were by the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage,Iowa; phone: (641)732-3706.
