PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, WISCONSIN -- Funeral services for Allan P. Hein were held Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, with the Rev. Douglas Mathison officiating. Allan died on July 16, 2006. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery.

Allan Phillip Hein was born September 22, 1947 at Osage, Iowa, to Edwin and Clarice (Paulson) Hein. He graduated from Osage High School and attended a Community College at Clinton, Iowa, and then received his BS degree from the University of Wisconsin at Stout. He served in the Air Force for four years.

Allan married Janis Parker on February 9, 1974 at St. Angelo, Texas. Following his discharge from the Air Force he taught at the Vocational High School in Davenport, Iowa for three years, and then returned to Stout and received his masters degree in Vocational Rehabilitation.

The family then moved to Prairie du Chien where he worked at the Opportunity Center for 18 years and later worked for the State of Wisconsin as a counselor.

Allan was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Janis; two sons: Matthew Hein of Steuben, Wisc.; Jamison Hein of Oshkosh, Wisc.; three siblings: Russell (Gloria) Hein of Little Cedar, Iowa; Robert (Ann) Hein of Winfield, Illinois, and Carol (Gordon) Dill of Salinas, California.

Thornburg-Hanson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
