Funeral services for Ernest F. Bruggemann, 70, a Toeterville area farmer, who died May 3, 1983 at St. Olaf hospital, Austin, Minnesota, were held May 7 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Toeterville, with the Rev. Charles Bunk officiating.
Ernest Frank Bruggemann was born May 22, 1912 on a farm in Union township, Mitchell county, the son of H. and Martha (Glienke) Bruggemann. He was baptized June 9, 1912 at St. Peter Lutheran church, Toeterville, and confirmed there on December 20, 1925. He attended two country schools in Union township, the school in Toeterville and the Drown school two miles north of Toeterville. He also attended one year of high school at Wartburg Academy in Waverly. Mr. Bruggemann then retunred to the farm home where he lived with his parents, sister and brother in Union township and Otranto township southeast of Mona.
He farmed in this area all his life. He was active in church and community affairs, serving on the Soil Conservation Board, and a term as chairman of the Trinity Lutheran Parish, Lyle, Minnesota.
Mr. Bruggemann was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister, Alma, and a brother, Henry.
Burial was in St. Peter Lutheran cemetery, with Rev. Bunk in charge of committal services.
