Funeral services for Mrs. Louis Novak, 64, who died at her home in Grafton, were held May 19, 1983 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton, with the Rev. Gary Panko officiating.
Myrtle Toms Novak was born in Huron, South Dakota on December 22, 1918, the daughter of William and Ina Toms. Her father died in 1920, and the family moved to Mitchell, Iowa. She attended schools in Mitchell and graduated from Mitchell high school in 1937.
She married Louis Novak on August 20, 1938 in Osage, Iowa. They lived in Mitchell until 1955 when they moved to their present farm east of Grafton. Mrs. Novak was preceded in death by her father and one daughter, Cynthia.
Survivors include her husband, Louis; three daughters: Mrs. Paul (Barbara) Groth of St. Ansgar; Mrs. Delmar (Judy) Champion of Monmouth, Illinois; and by Susan Novak of Roseville, Minnesota; eight grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Albion (Dorothy) Decklever of Creston; nieces and nephews; and her mother, Mrs. Ina Thompson of St. Ansgar.
Burial was in Oak Grove cemetery in Mitchell with Rev. Panko in charge of committal services.
