Funeral Held At
Emmanuel Lutheran

Funeral services for Harold A. Bartz, 72, of Grafton, who died at the Northwood Lutheran Retirement Home August 1, were held August 4 at the Emmanuel Lutheran church in Grafton with the Rev. Gary Panko officiating.

Harold Albert Wilhelm Bartz was born October 25, 1910 in Barton township, Worth county, the son of William and Mary (Marcks) Bartz. He was baptized December 4, 1910 at Emmanuel Lutheran church in Grafton and was confirmed there April 5, 1925. He attended the rural schools of Worth county before attending high school in Grafton.

June 26, 1949 he married Leona Schulz in St Paul, Minn. Following their marriage they settled on a farm in the Grafton area where he farmed all of his life. Mr. Bartz was an active member of Emmanuel Lutheran church and served on its church council. He was also active in many community and county organizations.

In 1972 he retired from active farming, and became a resident of the Northwood Lutheran Retirement home October 3, 1980.

Mr. Bartz was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one son and one grandson.

He is survived by his wife, Leona of Grafton; three sons, Fred of St. Thomas, N.D.; Dennis and Curtis, both of Grafton; also four grandchildren and one brother, Alvin of Grafton; several nieces and nephews.

Burial was in the Grafton cemetery.
