Mrs. Hattie J. Conner

Mrs. Hattie J. Conner, 78, of Waterloo, former resident of Osage, died Thursday, July 26, at St. Francis hospital, where she had been a patient the past 16 months with a brain disease.

Hattie Josephine Halstead, daughter of Magee and Debby Halstead, was born Nov. 8, 1866, in Osage.

On October 19, 1887, she was married to Sullivan B. Conner. To this union five children were born.

She resided in Osage until 1944, when she went to Waterloo to live with her daughter, Mrs. Albert Hovelson. She was a Seventh Day Adventist by faith.

Surviving besides Mrs. Hovelson are another daughter, Mrs. Jake Gunsallus of Sibley, Mo., two sons, Cleston, of Beloit, Wis., and Hugh of San Diego, Cal. and her twin brother, Albert E. Halstead of Racine, Wis.

The body was brought to Osage for burial.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Champion funeral home, the Rev. Stiles Lessly officiating. Burial was in Osage cemetery.
