[Osage News - January 18, 1906]

Mr. Vincent Habermann was born at Frabendorf, Moravia, Austria, Nov. 5, 1845.

He served in the German army in 1866. In May 1871, he was married to Anna Habermann. In June, 1874, the young couple came to the United States and settled near West Mitchell in Iowa. Here their home has been nearly all the time since.

In November, 1905, he went to New Mexico, hoping to regain health, but to no purpose. After a short stay there he started home, but stopped at the University hospital in Iowa City, where he died January 8th, 1906, at the age of 60 years, 2 months and 3 days.

Mr. Habermann was highly respected by all who knew him. He was kind and industrious, and a man of good habits. In his dealings with men he was honest, in the home he was kind and considerate.

Mr. Habermann was brought up in the Roman Catholic faith and was a sincere Christian man. The funeral services were held at the home and at the Baptist church in West Mitchell conducted by Rev. Jay A. Lapham, Jan. 12, 1906.

The widow, one son, Henry William Habermann of Oriska, North Dakota, and a daughter, Mrs. Ed Cummings of Austin, Minnesota are left to mourn his loss.

They have the deep symathy of many friends and neighbors.
