July 21, 1966Obituary of Mrs. Katie A. Coffey
Kathryn Ann Coffey, 35, daughter of Fredrick and Lucinda Barrett Norstadt, was born March 1, 1881 at Disney, Ia, and died on July 12, 1966, at Glenwood.
In her childhood she attended the rural schools of the Sidney area.
Kathryn Ann was united in marriage on Feb. 1, 1905 in Nebraska City, with Walter Coffey of the Hamburg -Sidney area. Her husband preceded her in death on June 6, 1946.
For the past 43 years, Mrs. Coffey has lived in the Glenwood and Paacific Junction area, with the exception of 12 years spent at Lenox. She was first a member of the Glenwood Methodist Church and later transferred her membership to the Lenox Methodist Church.
Mrs. Coffey has been preceded in death by her parents; her husband, and three brothers, James and John Norstadt, and one infant brother.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Eugene Van Orsdel (Mabel) and her husband, Eugene of Glenwood, one son, Cliff Coffey, and his wife, Vivian, of Sharpsburg; four grandchildren; eight great grand-children and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Raynor, Lett and Kent Funeral Home at Glenwood; conducted by the Rev. E. LeRoy Pullman of Silver City.
Casket bearers were Arno Asmussen, Wayne Hilton, Dale Sell, Glen Sell, Ross Stouder and Arleigh Shepard, Bernice Clipson and Mary Sawyers cared for the flowers. Music was furnished by Dick Clipson with Mrs. Clyde Mosher as organist.
Burial was in the Sidney cemetery.
