Lucille M. Perkins, 88, Malvern

Lucille May Perkins, 88, of Malvern, died Nov. 28, 2005 at Mansfield-Hertz Funeral Home. Pastor Shirley Albert officiated the services.

Interment was at the Malvern Cemetery.

Born at her parent's home northwest of Glenwood on May 3, 1917, she was one of three children born to Maggie Belle (Eby) and Henry Claus Bowley. She grew up in the Glenwood area and attended the West Oak and Lethal country schools.
She married Glen Rex Perkins of Malvern on April 25, 1936, in Glenwood. They made their home in Malvern and were blessed with two sons, Ronald and Gary. She worked for Swanson Foods in Malvern and was a homemaker.

In 1951, the family moved to Glenwood and she continued her role as a homemaker and also provided daycare. In 1959, she began a 20-year position with the Glenwood Community Schools as a cook. She retired in 1979.

She had been married to her husband for 56 years when he died in 1993. She continued to live at her home in Glenwood until 1998, when she moved to the Malvern Village. She enjoyed living there with many friends nearby.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother; and husband Glen Perkins. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Kahl of the Risen Son Christian Village in Council Bluffs; sons, Ronald Perkins and wife Linda, and Gary Perkins and wife JoAnna, all of Malvern; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

A memorial fund has been established. Mansfield-Hertz Funeral Home in Malvern was in charge of arrangements.
