Obituary Mrs. Jane Kelley

Jane Frances Wiatt, daughter of William G. and Cynthia E. Wiatt was born at Zanesville, Ohio, July 11, 1843 and passed on at her home in Omaha, Nebraska on April 7, 1925 at the advanced age of 81 years.

She had always had a very robust constitution for one of her years--her last illness of only one weeks' duration being practically her one and only serious sickness.

She was one of the very early pioneers in this part of Iowa--she, when nine years of age moving from Zanesville, Ohio with her parents and settling on the old Wiatt farm in Silver Creek Township where she lived until her marriage.

On April 5, 1868 she was united in marriage to John S. Kelley. They lived in the Benton neighborhood until his death which was in the year 1899. Since that time she has resided in Omaha making a home for her son, Cleve.

To this union were born seven children, Ray, William and Maleta having preceded her in death; leaving three sons, Charles, John and Cleve; one daughter, Mrs. H. R. Granteer, fifteen grandchildren, one great grandchild, three sisters, Mrs. Adelia Hamilton, Berwyn, Ill., Mrs. Ella Pierson, Henderson, Iowa, Mrs. Alta M Byrd, Omaha, Nebr., and one brother, John G Wiatt, Council Bluffs, Iowa, to mourn her loss.

She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church since childhood and took keen interest in church work always.

The funeral services conducted by her minister, Dr. Wagner of the First M. E. church of Omaha were held at the Hoffman-Crosby Funeral Home in Omaha at 11:00 a. m. and at East Liberty Church at 2:00 p. m. on Thursday.
