Services Held for Mrs. Walter Stivers

Tribute Paid Memory of Young Wife and Mother at Services Held in Christian Church Monday Afternoon.

Funeral services were held in the Glenwood Christian church Monday afternoon for Mrs. Walter Stivers. Rev. J.S. Reel, pastor of the church was in charge of the service. Music was furnished by Delores Reel and Eleanor Powers with Ruth Miller serving as pianist.

Mrs. Stivers, prior to her marriage, Lillian Pearl Glenn, was born August 13, 1906. All the early years of her life were spent in this community where she attended school graduating with the class of 1923.

On December 25, 1928 she was united in marriage to Walter R. Stivers. She is survived by her husband and their two sons, Walter, Jr., age 6 and Donald Lee, age 3; also her grandmother, Mrs. Martha Kirk, and two uncles, Thomas E. and Harvey Kirk, as well as other more distant relatives and a host of friends.

She united with the church at the age of nineteen and retained an active interest in church affairs until the time of her death.

She was a loving wife and mother, a kind friend and her untimely death brings sorrow to relatives and friends alike. The beautiful floral tributes bespoke the love and esteem in which she was held by those who knew her best.

The ladies in charge of the flowers were Alice Roll, Mabel Schneckloth, Evelyn Osterholm, Margaret Colwell, Pauline Baker and Juanita Wright. Those who served as pallbearers were Dahle Boyer, Hugh Edwards, Robert Davis, Glen Boyer, Walter Phifer and Clifford Fieselman.

The body was laid to rest in the Glenwood cemetery.
