Frank Winslow Services Held Tuesday Afternoon

Friends gathered at the Myers-James Funeral Home on Tuesday afternoon to pay respect to a well known Glenwood man, Frank S. Winslow, 76, who passed away last Saturday afternoon, following an illness of short duration. Music was furnished for the service by Robert Dean, soloist, with Mrs. C.T. Genung accompanying at the piano. Those serving as pallbearers were, T.J. Holliday, A.R. Newton, Roy Byers, W.S. DeMoss, Ward Slothower, and Carl Morgan. Rev. H.G. Parker of the Methodist church officiated.

Mr. Winslow, who was born July 23, 1863, in Illinois was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Winslow. When a young man he moved to Missouri coming to Glenwood over thirty years ago. For 17 years he was a loyal and trusted employee of the State Institution. He was of kindly and genial disposition which endeared him to his fellow associates as well as to the many friends which he made in the community.

He had enjoyed good health until a few days before his last illness, which was of short duration, and during which time all that was known to medical science was done and he was lovingly taken care of by family and friends.

It was thought last Tuesday that it was best to move him to a Council Bluffs hospital, where he was taken by his longtime friends, Mr. and Mrs. Carey Dudley. During his hospital stay, his wife, Ellen and his only son, Burman and a daughter-in-law, remained constantly at his bedside until the end came peacefully Saturday afternoon.

The body was laid to rest in the family lot in the Glenwood cemetery.
