Former Resident Dies in Nebraska

Mrs. Mary McShane, Sister of Mrs. Clune, and Former Glenwood Resident, Enjoyed Long and Interesting Life.

Mention has previously been made in this newspaper of the death of Mrs. Mary A. McShane of Rushville, Neb., which occurred October 27, in an Omaha hospital where she had gone for treatment. Mrs. McShane was a sister of Mrs. Clune and the late Mrs. A. B. Walling of this city and had lived for a time in Glenwood where she will be remembered by many.

The following life sketch and account of the funeral services is as it appeared in the home paper at Rushville.

Mary A. Lawson was born July 26, 1861 in Co Sligo, Ireland, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lawson, who preceded her in death some years ago. At the age of 18 she came to the United States and made her home with an aunt in Council Bluffs, Ia. In 1887 she was married to James Boyers and moved on a homestead west of Rushville. In 1890 Mr. Boyers died and 10 years later she was married to Henry W. McShane and resided on their ranch west of Rushville. About 25 years ago they leased their ranch and purchased a home in town. Mr. McShane departed this life August 5, 1935. Mrs. McShane was a resident of Sheridan county for 58 years and leaves many relatives and friends to mourn her passing. She has one brother, William Lawson of Brazoria, Texas, and four sisters, Mrs. Thomas Clune of Glenwood, Iowa, Mrs. Frank Bromley of Omaha, Mrs. James McKinley of Ireland, and Mrs. J.C. Davidson of Hay Springs, Neb. Also several nephews and nieces. Mrs. McShane was baptized in the Episcopal church when a child and in later years united with the Presbyterian church in Rushville. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Doreas society of the Presbyterian church. Episcopal services were held in Omaha which was attended by her relatives and friends from Nebraska and Iowa.

Her remains were brought to Rushville where services were held at the Presbyterian church. Interment was made at the Fairview cemetery. Easter Star in charge.
