Services in Silver City for Mrs. McCoy Sunday.

Funeral services for Mrs. Orphy Mae McCoy, who died January 15, 1941, at Twin Falls, Idaho, were held in Silver City Methodist Church Sunday, January 19, with Rev. George W. Hall officiating.

Cutler Funeral Home of Council Bluffs conducted the service, and also arranged the flowers. Pallbearers were Charles Sells, R.K. Henderson, James Burgoin. Will Burgoin, Art Burgoin and John Hettinger, and music was furnished by Mrs. Joe Kruse, Janice Hays, R.P. Galt and Lynn Sanderson, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. R.P. Galt, John Wright was usher for the services.

Following is a sketch of Mrs. McCoy's life:

Orphy Mae Speer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Speer, was born May 17, 1870, at Malvern, Iowa, and departed this life at her home in Twin Falls, Idaho, on January 15, 1941, having reached the age of seventy years, eight months and twenty-eight days.

Born and raised in Mills county, she was united in marriage to Mr. Lee G. McCoy on January 21, 1891, at Glenwood, Iowa, and lived for most of her life on a farm near Silver City, moving about eight years ago to Idaho, to settle at Twin Falls.

Eight daughters and four sons were born to Mr. and Mrs. McCoy, all of whom are now living. The husband and father passed on in 1935.

Of the Speer family, four brothers and two sisters survive: Mrs. Blanche Harts of Omaha, Nebr.; Mrs. Sylvia Harishe of Long Beach, California; Harry P. Speer of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Leonard Speer at Fremont, Nebr.; John B. Speer of Canoga Park, Calif.; and Bert Speer of Orvid, Colorado.

The twelve children are as follows; Mrs. H.A. Schroeder of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Mrs. George Williams of Royal, Nebraska; Mrs. Ed Behrend of Columbus, Nebraska; Mrs. Maud Straight of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Mrs. Wayne Haitz of Palmyra, Penna.; Miss Pearl McCoy, Mrs. Lucile Green and Mrs. Louise Huff, all of Twin Falls, Idaho; George McCoy of Kenberly, Idaho; Edward McCoy of Jerome, Idaho; William McCoy of Twin Falls, Idaho and Glen McCoy of Hansen, Idaho. In addition to these there are thirty-four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
