Service Sunday For Mrs. Wm. King

Born in Germany in 1878, Mrs. King Came to America as a Girl. Lived in Mineola Community Half a Century.

Funeral services were held in the Mineola Lutheran church Sunday afternoon for Mrs. William King, 62, who passed away in the Edmundson hospital in Council Bluffs, Thursday morning, December 5, following an illness of some duration. The service was conducted by the pastor, Rev. O.C. Bierman with the Glenwood Co-Operative Funeral Home in charge.

Dorothy, daughter of Chris and Minnie Colmorgan, was born in Germany May 5, 1878. When a girl of 12, she came with her parents to America. An only sister died while the family was on the water en route to the United States. The family came to Iowa and located near Mineola in which community she resided for half a century.

In 1906 she was married to William King of Mineola. They established their home on a farm in that community where they resided until about ten years ago when they moved to the present home in Mineola. She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church lived a consecrated Christian life, retaining an active interest in all of the affairs of the church.

Music for the funeral service consisted of two hymns, "I Would Not Live Always" and "Who Knows How Soon My Days Are Ended", rendered by Miss Catherine Scheoning, Miss Izetta Kiersch, Mrs. Wilbur Kruse and Mrs. Joe Kahl, with Mrs. Ezra Speck as accompanist. Pallbearers were Harvey Hansen, Virgil Hansen, Marvin Hansen, Emmett Schoening, Ervin Schoening and Myron Roenfeldt. The body was laid to rest in the Mineola cemetery.

She is survived by her husband and the following cousins, Henry Kraukau, William and John Kraukau of Silver City, Chas. Kraukau of Logan, Mrs. Sarah Brockman of Norfolk, Neb., Mrs. Anne Clark, Mrs. Joe Schoening, Mrs. Julius Scheel, Mrs. H.F. Scheel and Herman Bendt, all of Silver City, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jones, Henry Scharch and Mrs. Hattie Hansen of Council Bluffs and Otto Bendt of Glenwood.
