Services Held Tuesday For William Hixson

William W. Hixson, son of LeRoy B. and Elizabeth Lloyd Hixson, was born in Des Moines county, Iowa on March 19, 1869.

At the age of six, he moved with his parents to a farm near Malvern, Ia., where he grew to manhood. He was married to Addie Jane Davis of Hastings, Ia., on February 26, 1890. To this union were born four sons and two daughters, three of whom preceded him in death.

In 1897 they moved to Glenwood and lived in or near here until 1935. At this time he and his wife moved to Brunswick, Neb., to be near their daughter, Mrs. C.W. Roberts, and resided there until the time of his passing, June 15, 1941, being 72 years, and three months of age.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Addie Hixson, and three children, Mrs. C.W. Roberts of Brunswick, Neb., Mrs. A.R. White of Wonewoc, Wis., and L.C. Hixson of Davenport, Ia. Also one grandson, five granddaughters, four great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Music for the service was furnished by Mrs. Orley Altekruse and Mrs. Ralph McPherron with Mrs. Ernest Schade at the piano. Those in charge of the flowers were Mrs. Joe O'Neil, Mrs. Will Estes, Mrs. Ernest Vinton and Mrs. Carrie Woods. Pallbearers were Joe O'Neil, Harley Johnson, Earl Miller, Ernest Vinton, Herbert Barbour and L.B. Seymour.

Services were conducted in Raynor's chapel in Glenwood Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. H.G. Parker of the Methodist church, in charge. Those attending from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Benefield, Wilcox, Mo., Mrs. D.E.Vert, Maryville, Mo., Mrs. Henry Finn, Parnell, Mo., Ralph Stoddard, Shenandoah, Ia., Mrs. Jennie Hixson, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Stroud, Mrs. Riley Hixson, of Malvern, Mrs. Marie Lahr, Dick Lahr, Mrs. Hattie Sears, of Lincoln, Neb., L.C. Hixson, Davenport, Ia., Mrs. Don Mundy, Rockport, Ill., Mrs. Wilma Hixson, Shenandoah, Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Roberts, New Brunswick, Neb., and Mrs. A.R. White, Wonewoc, Wis.

Interment was made in the Glenwood cemetery.
