Services Held For Mrs. Delashmutt

Services Held in Raynor's Chapel in Glenwood Monday for Well Known Pacific Junction Resident

Funeral services were held in Raynor's chapel in Glenwood Monday afternoon for Mrs. Jessie DeLashmutt of Pacific Junction. The service was conducted by Rev. Ralph Fagan of Pacific Junction. Music for the service was furnished by Mrs. Frank Boyle and Mrs. Shirley Lincoln. The ladies in charge of the floral tributes were Mrs. Leonard Dean. Mrs. Hilda DeLashmutt, Mrs. Allen Watts and Mrs. Maude Talbot. Pallbearers were Lee Sargent, Frank Hines, Louis Boyle, Frank Boyle, W.L. Lechliter and Sidney Moore. The body was laid to rest in the Glenwood cemetery.

The following life sketch was read at the funeral service.

Jessie Lorene Jacobs, daughter of George and Carrie Jacobs, was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on March 29, 1884. She grew to young womanhood in that community and later came to Mills county with her parents.

On April 25, 1906, she was united in marriage to William Linsay DeLashmutt. Two sons were born to this union, William Linsay, who passed away in 1917, and Donald Eugene of Pacific Junction. Mr. DeLashmutt preceded her in death in 1911. For the past 25 years she had resided at her home on the north edge of Pacific Junction.

Mrs. DeLashmutt was affiliated with the Methodist church. She devoted her life to her home and family, greatly enjoying her small grandchildren.

On July 11, Mrs. DeLashmutt became seriously ill and was taken to the Mercy hospital in Council Bluffs, where she passed away early the morning of July 12, at the age of 57 years, three months and 13 days.

She is survived by her son, Donald of Pacific Junction, her mother, Mrs. Carrie Jacobs of Glenwood, and her grandchildren, Marilyn Jean, Donald Eugene, Jr., and Ernest Linsay.
