Funeral Services For Warren Knuppel

Services held in Raynor Chapel Thursday afternoon for young man who was fatally injured in tragic Easter accident.

Funeral services for Warren Knuppel were held in Raynor Chapel in Glenwood Thrusday afternoon. The service was conducted by Rev. H.G. Parker of the Glenwood Methodist church. Music for the service was furnished by Robert Lawson with Nancy Cook at the piano.

Those in charge of the floral tributes were Mrs. Stanley Engle, Mrs. Berwyn Hamilton and Mrs. Lauren Dawson of this city and Mrs. Wilma Donnan of Council Bluffs.

Those who served as pallbearers were Berwyn Hamilton, Lauren Dawson, Dennis Downing, Victor Downing, Stanley Engle and Leslie Davis.

Warren Stuart Knuppel, son of George and Louera Knuppel, was born April 23rd, 1911 at Beaver City, Nebr. Warren's father preceded him in death in 1913 and he and his mother came to Mills county that same year.

He was educated in the Glenwood schools and later attended the Wentworth Academy at Lexington, Mo. He also attended Wesleyan University at Lincoln., Nebr. He was a member of the Glenwood Methodist church.

For a number of years he followed the occupation of cattle feeding.

On June 7th, 1936 he was united in marriage to Evelyn James of Iowa City.

One daughter, Sylvia Sue, now four years of age, was born to this union.

Following a tragic automobile accident which occurred on Easter Sunday afternoon, April 5th, Warren passed away just before midnight at Jennie Edmundson hospital in Council Bluffs; having reached the age of 30 years, 11 months and 12 days.

He leaves to mourn his untimely passing his wife and daughter; also his mother, Mrs. Louera Knuppel, all of Glenwood, other relatives and a host of friends.

Out of town relatives at Warren Knuppel funeral; Mrs. Nettie James, mother of Mrs. Knuppel, Miss Jeanette James her sister and Mr. and Mrs. Curtis James, her brother and sister-in-law, all of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. L.R. Carson of Oskaloosa, Iowa, sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jess James, uncle and aunt and Mrs. Warren James of West Liberty, Iowa and Mr. and Mrs. Victor Downing, cousins of Leavenworth, Kansas.
