Funeral Services Sunday for Mrs. Fred Nix

Mrs. Etta Mae Nix passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James Merritt in Glenwood, September 18. She had been in declining health for some time. Etta Mae was the daughter of James and Amanda Nichols. She was born in Brookfield, Missouri, August 22, 1877. Her age was 65 years and 27 days.

She was united in marriage to Fred Nix in Brunswick, Missouri, November 22, 1910. About seventeen years ago her family moved to Glenwood where they have since made their home.

Mrs. Nix had a great interest in children and was a lover of flowers.

Her parents, a brother, a sister, and an infant child proceeded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Fred; her only daughter, Mrs. James Merritt of Glenwood; a half brother Fred Nichols of Houston, Texas; three nephews, James Nichols of Burlington, Iowa; John Nichols of Red Oak; and Henry Nichols of Council Bluffs.

Funeral services were held in the James' Chapel Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev. LeRoy Zook. Music for the service was furnished by a mixed quartet from the Faith Home of Tabor. Those in charge of the floral offering were Nellie Zook, Georgia Zook, and Laura Biancalana. The pall bearers were J.L. Chambers, B.A. Reynolds, Lyle Bonner, Roy Minder, Perry G. Bayes and Robert T. Caley.

The body was laid to rest in the Glenwood cemetery.
