Shirley Lee Stevens, 75, of Malvern died May 17, 2005 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Services were held May 20 at United Methodist Church in Malvern. Reverends David Kim and Ted Sieck presided. Interment followed at Malvern Cemetery.

Mrs. Stevens was born Nov. 16, 1929 in Climax to Bryce Cummings and Doris (Hunt) Cummings-Wilson. She was united in marriage to Frank Oliver Stevens on Feb. 25, 1950 in Glenwood. The couple eventually settled in Malvern. To this union three children were born, Lee Warren, Michael David and Julie Ann. Mrs. Stevens loved visiting her family and going on adventures with her sister, Dolores. She was a talented still-life painter, enjoyed raising animals, playing scrabble and doing crossword puzzles. She loved being with her grandchildren and was known as an excellent cook. Her love of nature was shown by her enjoyment of feeding and watching birds.

Mrs. Stevens was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Peggy DiLeo. She is survived by her husband, Frank of Malvern; children, Lee and wife Teresa Stevens; Michael and wife Denise Stevens of Phoenix, Ariz., Julie and husband, Brian Bailey of Councill Bluffs; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters Dolores and husband, Jerry Morgal of Malvern, Jackie and husband Boyd Marsing of Reno, Nev; brother John and wife Diane Wilson of Davenport, Iowa; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Peterson Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
